DOCUMENTS Β· CHECKLIST
Documents Required for a Bangalore University Transcript
Not every document on a transcript checklist carries the same certainty. Here's what to prepare first, what depends on your case, and what your evaluator may separately require.
Not every item on a "documents required" list carries the same weight. Some things are genuinely expected in almost every case, some depend entirely on your situation, some should not be sent unless a specific requirement calls for them, and some belong to your evaluator rather than to Bangalore University at all. This checklist is organised into four categories for exactly that reason, so you can tell at a glance what applies to you rather than treating one long list as if everything on it matters equally. It fits into the broader Bangalore University application process.
Prepare these first
These are expected in almost every standard transcript application.
- All semester/year marksheets for your qualification that are available to you. If one or more are missing, have your case reviewed rather than assuming the remaining marksheets, or a consolidated marks card, will automatically be sufficient.
- Your final degree certificate, if it has been issued. If it hasn't yet been issued, provide the provisional degree certificate you have and confirm whether it is sufficient for the particular application.
- Appropriate photo identification. The exact identification needed should be confirmed for your case.
- Your registration, roll or enrollment information, along with your college, course and study/passing details.
Provide these if applicable or available
These depend on your particular case rather than applying to everyone.
- If you also have a consolidated marks card, include it for review. Do not assume that it automatically replaces the individual semester/year marksheets. If any individual marksheets are unavailable, confirm what will be needed for your particular record before proceeding.
- Your passport, where documents are going abroad or identity matching against an international destination is needed.
- Where someone else is acting on your behalf, an authorization letter or similar consent. If you're applying from outside India, see our guide on applying for a transcript from outside India.
- Where a representative is physically involved in submitting or collecting documents, identification for that person may also be requested. The exact identification should be confirmed for the individual case.
Do not send automatically
These items should not be sent without a confirmed requirement for your case. That doesn't mean Bangalore University could never ask for them.
- Original degree certificate and original marksheets. Do not courier irreplaceable original documents simply because you assume they are required. If an original needs to be produced for inspection in a particular case, confirm that requirement and how the document should be handled before sending it.
- Notarized or certified copies, unless your specific application or evaluator asks for them.
- Power of Attorney. For routine representative coordination, a Power of Attorney is not the standard starting requirement. Authorization requirements depend on the case.
- Passport-size photographs. Do not arrange or send passport-size photographs unless your particular application instructions ask for them.
If you are also replacing a lost marks card or degree, that is a separate process and may require additional documents.
What your evaluator may separately require
University-side documents are what's needed to identify and process your Bangalore University academic record. Evaluator-side requirements are what WES, IQAS, ICES, another evaluator or professional body subsequently requires for its own assessment, and the two are not the same thing.
- Your evaluator's reference or application number, once a file is open.
- Evaluator-specific forms or portal uploads.
- Electronic verification or destination-specific submission instructions.
For WES specifically, see our Bangalore UniversityβWES step-by-step guide. For a broader look at destination requirements, see our destinations overview.
Marksheets vs. the consolidated marks card
Prepare all semester or year marksheets for your qualification that are available to you. If you also have a consolidated marks card, include it for review, but don't assume it automatically replaces the individual marksheets. If any individual marksheets are unavailable, confirm what will be needed for your particular record before proceeding.
Degree certificate vs. provisional degree certificate
Provide your final degree certificate if it has been issued. If it hasn't, provide the provisional degree certificate you have and confirm whether it is sufficient for the particular application. Evaluator acceptance of a provisional certificate is a separate question and should be confirmed with the evaluator directly.
A note on original documents
You would not normally be asked to send your original degree certificate or marksheets by default. If a particular case requires an original for inspection, that should be confirmed first, rather than assumed.
University documents vs. evaluator requirements
Bangalore University's own checklist and an evaluator's, whether WES, IQAS or otherwise, requirements are two different things. An evaluator's reference number can sometimes need to accompany a University-side submission, but it originates with the evaluator, not the University.
FAQ
What should I bring if I have all my semester marksheets?
Provide all of them along with your degree or provisional certificate, appropriate photo identification, and your registration/roll details. If you also hold a consolidated marks card, include that too.
What if my final degree certificate has not been issued yet?
Provide the provisional degree certificate you have and confirm whether it's suitable for your particular application. This isn't a guaranteed substitute in every process, and evaluator acceptance is assessed separately.
Do I need to send original documents?
Not automatically. Don't courier irreplaceable original certificates or marksheets on the assumption they're required. If a specific case needs an original for inspection, confirm that requirement and how it should be handled before sending anything.
Do I need a passport-size photograph?
Don't arrange or send one unless your particular application instructions call for it. It isn't part of the standard checklist.
Is a document my evaluator asks for the same as a Bangalore University requirement?
No. Your evaluator's reference number, forms, portals or submission instructions belong to that organisation's own process, separate from what Bangalore University needs to identify and process your record, though a reference number can sometimes need to accompany a University-side submission.
What should I do if one or more semester marksheets are missing?
Don't assume a consolidated marks card automatically solves the problem. Have your academic record reviewed so the appropriate requirement for your specific case can be determined.
Not sure which documents apply to your record?
Share the academic documents you currently have so the requirements for your case can be reviewed before you proceed.
